November 2009

Mary and Jim (Mimi and Big Jim) have been creating some paths  in their backyard.  Genni took me exploring yesterday evening on an incomplete path all the way on the back edge of the property.  How I have an outdoor crazy child, I have no idea. I am not all that crazy about the outside....But during the fall and winter and less hot/humid spring days, I can handle it somewhat.  Genni has so much fun too.

Picking one of Big Jim's satsumas.  She took it inside and Jim peeled it for her.  She INHALED it.

Growing Up

I love this picture of Genni - Vannessa took a lot of snapshots over Halloween weekend and got some really great pictures.

She looks like such a big girl here!

Halloween!

Prepping for a BIG night out with a good dinner.  Genni is decked out in all in a black bodysuit and black velvet bow for dinner and will add the bee part of the bee costume once she is finished.

A little bit of play before the trick or treating starts........

The first house......

The loot!  Genni's first attempt at trick or treating was a success.  She came away with a little plastic kazoo and two suckers!

After we did Central Drive - we loaded up and went to her grandfather's house.  Genni took the opportunity to inspect her candy.  She seems to be thrilled by the suckers.

VERY serious about getting this tootsie pop open!

Being a silly girl w/ her bee wing.

Back home and happy!

Pumpkin!

Genni LOVES our neighbors inflatable pumpkin (or numpkin as she says).  Here she is waving to it.

Genni and Jacques watching the inflatable pumpkin.  He lifted her up so she could get a better view from the top of their fence.  Notice she is still waving to it.

More Swimming!

Earlier this summer, as you can see in one of my first posts, Genni loved swimming in her little floaty boat.  Now that she has known the freedom of swimming OUT of the boat there is no going back.

See that little foot sticking out of the water?  She is working hard at kicking.

Juice break with Sasha.

Testing embedding a video........

Telling everyone "Bye!" and giving kisses.

Genni LOVES when her dad gets home from work - she watches for him to get home through the kitchen window. This isn't the most animated reaction she has ever had but it's still pretty cute. You have to get about 50 seconds in to see the "action".

Trip to Ganny and Bapaw's in College Station

Genni always has a good time at Ganny and Bapaw's in College Station.  We went to the Van Alstyne's to celebrate my mother's "Gamma" birthday and to go to the A&M game.

Saturday morning playing on the pink car.  Genni LOVED this.  When we were getting ready to leave on Sunday, Ganny said Genni would have to come back again to swim and see the puppies.  Genni replied, running over to the pink car "and this".

I suppose all kids love telephones, but Genni has an especially strong love of the phone.  She is running to take her stuffed animal Patches or "Pa-Pa" as she calls him, the phone.

Genni really liked the Van Alstyne dogs Katy and Sasha.  We called them puppies and I swear she must have said "PUPPIES!" about 100 times over the course of the weekend.  Here she is with Katy.  In the bottom shot Katy trying to nap but Genni "helping" her play w/ a ball.

Ganny and Bapaw have lots of toys.  Here is Genni on Sunday  morning taking care of a "bobby" while watching some Handy Manny.

Dressed up in her A&M dress Ganny and Bapaw sent her.

Isn't Genni a little young to love Hannah Montana???

Not that I really mind, it is a cute show.  We keep Disney on in the background quite a bit so she has seen it off and on.  When the show comes on Genni perks up and starts singing along w/ it woah-a-o-o-o-o-o.  It's hilarious.

Here she is last night very proud that she is able to hold my empty cup, singing along w/ the Hannah Montana theme song.

Notice the pursed lips - in mid song......

Have you ever seen someone happier to hold a cup and straw?

SHOES!

Genni loves shoes.  Loves them.  Last night after her bath she was really taken w/ my shoes and wore them for a good 45 minutes.  For some reason she refused to wear a shirt.  Normally she is really into wearing a "shur-T" but I suppose the love of shoes overshadowed the need to be fully dressed.  At least she wore her pretty green and blue bow.

Stats

9/10/2009 - 20 Months

Weight:  23lbs.
Height:  32 inches

Miss Independent!

Genni is very proud of herself when she drinks from her own glass.  She knows that if you are going to drink from a big girl glass you have to be very still and hold tight with both hands.  Note she is holding tight with both hands in this photo.  She doesn't want me to take the glass from her OR spill any water so is being very careful.  When I offer to take the glass she holds extra tight and tells me "Mine.".

Lazy Morning's

Genni got in our bed to catch an episode of the Mickey Mouse Club House (or Mick Mouse as she calls it) this Labor Day.  She has developed a love of pillows in the last couple of days.  We are going to get her a pillow of her own for her crib this weekend.

Wearing the Baby's Dress

I can't believe her shoulders fit in this!  The little dress was stretched to the limit but Genni was very happy.  No, this is not a picture of her in a bolero jacket, it is actually her doll's dress.

My Hairdressing Skills are Improving

Check out the fantastic puppy tails I gave Genni.  She is kind of a squirmer so having an episode of Hanny Manny and a nice cold cup of milk gives me a few minutes to work on her baby fine hair.  Not only would I love to have Genni's haircolor - I would love to have her curls too.

First Time at Luby's

I took Genni to Luby's for her first "square fish" LuAnn a couple of weeks ago.  She inhaled the square fish with most of the batter removed, green beans and even the fried okra.
Notice the clean plate - she had to use her hands after the fork dropped to the floor.
Can't leave a single crumb behind.

Swimming!

Swimming is FUN!

Genni LOVES being outdoors....

Genni had a fun time playing at the Rogers Park playground.....and sprinkler park. Naturally Patches came along too.
She played in the sprinklers for a good 45 minutes and put up a bit of a fuss when I decided it was finally time to go - but seemed pacified when she was able to hold Patches again (Patches isn't crazy about sprinklers) and have some juice. This is one serious water baby!
